The Rhode Island Alarm and Systems Contractors Association (RIASCA) is a non-profit organization founded in 1973 to represent professional companies installing, servicing and monitoring security and fire alarm systems in Rhode Island. The Association is committed to promoting and maintaining the integrity of the electronic security industry.

NFPA is currently developing the first consensus-based building code. The mission of NFPA, which was organized in 1896, is to reduce the worldwide burden of fire and other hazards on the quality of life by providing and advocating scientifically-based consensus codes and standards, research, training, and education.
ASIS International, with more than 32,000 members, is the largest international organization for professionals responsible for security, including managers and directors of security. In addition, corporate executives and other management personnel, as well as consultants, architects, attorneys and federal, state and local law enforcement, are becoming involved with ASIS International to understand the constant changes in security issues and solutions. ASIS International is dedicated to increasing the effectiveness and productivity of security practices by developing educational programs and materials that address broad security concerns.
